What language is used for names of countries?
I should expect ‘‘vereinigtes königreich’’ in English, the local name or dependent of your setting (locale). But in stead of UK it is called this way:

It is neither, that field is free text, and users can enter any language or alphabet they want. There is no on the fly translation done. Typically you will see this when the user is a visitor and / or has their mobile set to a particular language.
