Where should I volunteer for wildlife conservation or ornithology in the UK?

Hiya!
I’m interested in becoming a wildlife conservationist/ornithologist and am currently in studying zoology.
I’m based in the UK, and I was wondering where I could volunteer to increase my experience in this field. I know reserves and sanctuaries are good places to volunteer, do zoos also work? In which they conduct research of course.

Would be great if anyone has any input for me to increase my experience and for me to learn new stuff while I’m doing my studies.

While I have no direct experience of this approach, I would try your local RSPB branch or Wildlife trust. They have many volunteering roles/experiences available and can also probably point you elsewhere if you are looking for something else/more specific.

Hi Abdurrahman!

Thanks for reaching out with your question!

I took a look :eyes: at your fantastic website, and it’s clear that you’re already on the right track! :muscle:

Maybe, although you already have a lot of great ideas, you were curious about what your fellow forum members might suggest. I could list many ideas, but you’re probably familiar with a lot of them.

Keep moving forward, and please keep us posted on your progress! :muscle: :sunglasses:

Thank you so much!
Yes, I try my utmost best, and would love to hear your ideas also!

Thank you so much once again

This is not exactly answering your question, but I thought relevant enough to give it an airing:
