What behaviour, exactly? Typing a few characters, selecting an option and clicking “Done” is one of the most common ways to add an ID - it does not result in the behaviour you describe. There must be something missing from your current description of the problem.
Not related to the browser, but I’ve noticed this doesn’t always work with really old observations (7 years+). A new ID to correct a maverick doesn’t do anything.
I’m going to put in a guess to what might be happening here - if I have an observation open and select an identification, but leave the page open for some amount of time before finishing and pressing done (usually because I’m typing a long comment, or searching for references as I type the comment, etc), something seems to time out on the backend and doesn’t let you actually submit. I will often copy the comment I wrote out in order to refresh the page and submit the ID again for when this happens.
This may not be what the OP is experiencing, but is what comes to mind when I read it.
The sequence of steps is correct and timeout is not an issue. I tried to replicate the issue in Safari but all I get is a blank page (this only happens in Safari). I restarted my computer but all of the reported problems persist.
Do you have some sort of pop-up blocker enabled that is stopping the normal disagreement pop-up (the one with the options, No it isn’t, or I Don’t Know)?
It took me a while to find something I wanted to disagree with, but when I did it worked normally for me:
@trscavo would you be OK with me logging in as your inat account and trying this out? As a staff member it’s something I can do but want to get permission from you. Then I could see if it’s specific to your account.
