All observations automatically added to a project

Please fill out the following sections to the best of your ability, it will help us investigate bugs if we have this information at the outset. Screenshots are especially helpful, so please provide those if you can.

Platform (Android, iOS, Website): Website

App version number, if a mobile app issue (shown under Settings or About): NA

Browser, if a website issue (Firefox, Chrome, etc) : Brave

URLs (aka web addresses) of any relevant observations or pages: https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/edible-plants-and-fungi-of-santa-cruz

Screenshots of what you are seeing (instructions for taking a screenshot on computers and mobile devices: https://www.take-a-screenshot.org/):

Description of problem (please provide a set of steps we can use to replicate the issue, and make as many as you need.): All of my observations are automatically being added to one of my projects, linked above (Edible plants and fungi of Santa Cruz). When I am looking at an observation and scroll down to the projects it is linked to, I cannot delete it. When I click the settings button, the only option it shows is “edit your settings for this project.” (See screenshot). There is no option to delete. I do not see a setting under my project that would change this.

Thanks for the help!

You can’t delete any observation from a collectional project, all you can is change settings of it, if you need it for specific plants and place you should add those species to the filters of the project.

(Do you mean “can’t”?)

Your project is collecting all taxa (all species) occurring worldwide, so as @fffffffff mentions, you’ll need to edit your project to include only the species/taxa that you are interested in as well as narrow down the place to just Santa Cruz. You can edit your project by going to the homepage and clicking “Edit Project” on the right side of the page.
