Ampersands in taxon names and observation notes show as & in the page title

Platform (Android, iOS, Website): Website.

Browser, if a website issue (Firefox, Chrome, etc) : Many - can replicate on Firefox 126, Mobile Safari 17.4, Edge.

URLs (aka web addresses) of any relevant observations or pages: Any page where the taxon name has an ampersand in it, e.g “Abraham, Isaac & Jacob” - https://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/59933-Trachystemon-orientalis or an observation of it (e.g https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/207631445 ); or any observation where the notes have an ampersand in (e.g that observation again)

Screenshots of what you are seeing (instructions for taking a screenshot on computers and mobile devices: https://www.take-a-screenshot.org/):

Observation page itself shows fine:

(note “amp;” in both the common name and the notes)

Description of problem (please provide a set of steps we can use to replicate the issue, and make as many as you need.):

Step 1: Set name display order to Common Name (Scientific Name) or Scientific Name (Common Name).

Step 2: Find a taxon page or an observation of it where the taxon’s name has an ampersand, or find an observation with an ampersand in the notes. Look at the page title in your browser (mouse over to view the full title if needed).

Oddly, this doesn’t happen for projects with an & in the title:

That error doesn’t show up on my smartphone (iOS) or on my laptop (Chrome) when I click on the species page and record links you provided. Presumably it’s the software on your device?

It shouldn’t be my PC - I can see it on my phone too (also iOS, Safari, 17.4.1) -

The issue isn’t with the page itself (it renders fine there) - only page’s title. I can get friends who don’t use iNat to replicate it on uk.inaturalist.org (on the taxon page for Abraham Isaac & Jacob) - on Android, I think Chrome.
