App not recognizing geotag info that accompanied photos

On a Samsung Galaxy S10+, the app is not accepting geotag info from photos. Yes, geotagging is turned on the photos in question. To test this, Photos were on an SD card which I used on another smartphone with the inat app installed to upload photos and it accepted the geotags fine. However on this phone it is useless. Not sure why. Please help. I am the most current version.

I did. They got the geotag to load fine. But could not tell me why I cannot, even after i sent a bug report.
