I was wondering if I could create a topic for my project called world of birds. It would be a place for the people who joined the project could talk.
i think this sort of thing would usually be accomplished by creating a journal post on the project. folks could then add comments on that journal post. not every iNat user is necessarily also an iNatForum user, but every iNat user can post comments on an iNat project journal post.

Yes, this forum is for broad iNat discussion, it’s not a utility for individual projects to use. The forum would be completely overwhelmed if that was the case.

Another option would be to start like a Discord or something, but managing and moderating a discussion group is a lot of work and probably not worth it.
