Description of problem:

Step 1: Notice two observations that, despite disagreements, should have been research grade at species-level. One was stuck at Order-level, the other at Genus-level.

Step 2: Try flipping a DQA option on/off to reindex the observation. Community IDs were corrected to species-level, but the observations still aren’t research grade as they should be.

Step 3: Check the Community ID scoring sheet to confirm that both observations have 2/3rds consensus and should be research grade (but still are not).

I have not tried adding another confirming ID because I wanted to bring this bug to attention first.

Reindexing problem? Change something to force iNat to reindex - then delete the something you changed.

I did try that by voting for a DQA option then removing my vote. It changed the text at the top of the screen (for the first link it was Lepidoptera, then it changed to Hypercompe scribonia), but it still didn’t make the observation research grade.

I’ve also now noticed that the community ID is still Lepidoptera, even though that’s not what appears at the top of the observation.

I just added and withdrew an ID under the second linked observation. That sent it to research grade and it stayed there after withdrawing. Thanks @DianaStuder!

From what I can see, it seems to be resolved now.
Both linked observations are Research Grade and at the community taxon is at the species level.
