Dead turtles (Lepidochelys olivacea) in Tamil Nadu, India

I’ve been scrolling through the turtle observations in South India after finding a dead Olive Ridley Turtle at Mahabalipuram beach. When looking at the observations in Tamil Nadu almost all of them report dead turtles only. Online it says, these dead turtles are very common there especially from December to April and that they’re due to fishernets, ship propellers and natural causes. But how is that related to the season and why is it so dominant in Tamil Nadu? (Along the same shore in Mahabalipuram there were several dead fish including a puffer fish.)
I am not that much into turtles so maybe anyone here has an explanation?
