Have you ever noticed an animal doing something hilariously funny, caught the split-second action, or unexpectedly found something strange or unique in your photos? Animals are always up to something, but it’s easy to miss the moment when it happens…a mistake, an angry charge, a distinctive photo? Here are a couple of my funniest moments…what about yours?
I caught just the second when he took off
Did you drop something, Miss?
Hence, the name :)
A laughing gull following (Or chasing :)) a brown pelican
What we jokingly call my dad’s ‘favorite birds’, they sure can squawk up a storm!
I’m not even sure what to say about this…if you look closely, though, you can see the wings, the eyes…and the poofed-out tail spreading around it. Definitely an interesting moment!

You’d think with 6 legs that this tarantula hawk would be more graceful, but here it looks like it’s hanging on for its life:

I recently started a private FB group to share my shots with friends, relatives, etc. I have a cousin in Australia who joined and she asked if a friend of hers could too. This Caspian Tern shot was part of their ‘down under’ welcome to the group.

“Honey? How many of those pills did it say it was safe to take at once?
Would you check the bottle please?”
Ummm… there’s nothing really funny about being killed by an intestinal parasite.
But, I dunno, a lot of folks thought this one was worth a snickering grin at least. Especially when someone added the above caption. Hmm. I can’t tell you why, exactly.
As for the parasite’s species, even a Canadian and a Danish expert which I shared this picture with are still not sure.

Is that a hot Cheeto?? I, personally, find them gross, although it is his choice if he wants it, I guess. I didn’t even know they scavenged food off humans, though I guess it explains their prominence at gas stations :)

Not inat but here is a vid of a seagull that spent several days in a row protecting its territory from itself in our VCs window. (MSR fail).

This is probably more cute than funny, but I found it kind of funny cute. A Juvenile kea trying to break into our supplies on a research trip above the Hooker Glacier. Murmering away to itself, until it catches me recording.
