I added a place but it's not showing up when I edit my Bioblitz

Please help! I am trying to add a location for my Bioblitz. Last year we were able to use the name of our location, but this time we have not been able to find the location. So I followed the instructions and “added a new place” I got a confirmation that this worked, and I can see the place when I search for it. The first time I searched for it, all the old observations popped up - just like they should. But I couldn’t add it to my project. Now I checked again, and all the observations have disappeared! I don’t understand what’s going on. Please help - I need to add a location for this BioBlitz.

Can you share links to your project and the place?

Place https://www.inaturalist.org/places/whitesbog-village

The problem may have been I made a collection project and not an umbrella project. Not sure what the issue is.

Looks like that place is just a point instead of a polygon. Do you have a KML to import the boundary of the village?

I too just held a BioBlitz, and am missing entries that originally showed up in the Project tally, but are no longer attached with the project. I tried going in manually to one of my observations to see if the project was associated with it, and it was not, and I was unable to search the project to link the two. I think this is a bug, and would really appreciate if anyone had an answer/fix for how to deal with this. Thanks.

It sounds like that is a different issue than this topic. Can you start a new topic, including the project URL and some example observations that should fall within the project but do not? Thanks!

looks like they worked around this by using a larger existing polygon (https://www.inaturalist.org/observations?place_id=136312). the previous bioblitz seems to have used a “traditional” project (https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/whitesbog-bioblitz) vs a collection project. it may be worth noting that the user who created the new project would not have been able to create a traditional project nor a place because of this: https://forum.inaturalist.org/t/upcoming-limits-on-making-projects-places-and-messages/2095. (tanyadapkey would have been able to though, assuming she knew how to do that.)
