I maxed out the unread notifications count

Sorry, but I couldn’t resist sharing… in case anyone is curious, apparently the red “unread notifications” counter maxes out at 10,000.

I got back from field season after not logging on for a couple months (except to submit obs using the app), and it was at around 8,500, and it stopped going up a few days ago when it hit 10k. Reviewing a page of them doesn’t bring the number down though, so apparently I have some number above 10k that can’t be displayed. Barring some sort of hack to reset it to zero without clicking through them page by page, I think I’ll just be operating as if notifications don’t exist from now on. Achievement unlocked, I guess?

Impressive! I recommend turning off confirming IDs in your Account Settings if you haven’t done that, that can drastically reduce the number of notifications you receive.

Thanks will do! Most of the tags were for ID so it’s no biggie, one was asking about how to make a location a place but I found the thread here that explained it and was able to do it.
