Inactive Taxon?

Linked to this “inactive taxon” (https://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/160968-Crataegus-anamesa) through SEINet portal.
If I search for “Crataegus anamesa” nothing shows up.
What does “inactive taxon” mean in iNaturalist.
Thanks

Probably something went wrong with adding Crataegus × anamesa which is accepted by POWO, add a flag to genus or this inactive taxon, so curators can find out about it.
Inactive taxon means just that, it can’t be used.

Yeah, it’s a hybrid species so should have an x after genus. But doesn’t appear to be in iNat that way, only as the inactive non-hybrid name.

An inactive taxon is a taxon that isn’t useful anymore, and has been replaced, renamed, or split into two or more taxons.
