iNat crashes the Edge browser

Please fill out the following sections to the best of your ability, it will help us investigate bugs if we have this information at the outset. Screenshots are especially helpful, so please provide those if you can.

Description of problem (please provide a set of steps we can use to replicate the issue, and make as many as you need.):

Step 1:
open the upload menu
Step 2:
add a picture via drag and drop (moving the picture with the mouse from an explorer folder to the upload area)
Step 3:
open a picture from the explorer with the windows standard tool (“Fotoanzeige”)
step 4
create an outcrop of one photo
step 5
save the outcrop under a new name (add an “a” to the original name)
step 6
right mouse click, use copy path to clipboard
image
step 7
go back to the still open upload dialog
step 8
press the button to upload a photo (instead of dragging it with the mouse)
step 9
The Edge browser then freezes in the upload dialog
step 10
the only to go back to work is this: open the windows task manager, terminate the browser instance in question. If you do not find out which one, terminate them all.
step 11
reopen the browser and redo your work. Dragging the picture in question is not a problem even if you do it right after you cropped it out of the original photo. That said: with avoiding step 6 and 7 and using drag and drop of the created outcrop prevents the crash

edit:
to write the bug report I opened another edge browser instnace instead of terminating the instance in question. With that I was able to successfully press the cancel button (“abbrechen” in my screenshot) to get back to work. I had the same situation sveral times before, but I never tried a start one instance more.

can you actually repeat this consistently using the same steps as you described? (if not, this seems like something that may be hard to troubleshoot and is probably a browser issue anyway.)

I did serveral time until I decied to raise the issue.

However, I just tried it again and it did not reapeare. Originally it made this experience several times during my normal uploads. As it is annoying, I avoided the pattern most of the times.

I will have an eye on it.

Hm. Just made it again to crash.
The one thing I made differently was: I used the exit button of the photo viewer app before returning to the browser.
I managed to start and use a second browser instance (to write this post) but browser intance with the observations is frozen in the upload screen.
I cannot add in something in the selection field. However, the path I intended to add seem to be not in the clippboard, eg. I cannot paste it here.
Starting to terminate browser instances in the task manager:

managed to terminate one with this result, I then could end the file upload windows with the cancel butten and got this as a result:

Reload brought me back to the start of the upload dialog:
