Something similar to me happened. But instead of my observations. I find myself scrolling past the same observations of other people twice.

And it was the same for the whole row!

Again, the topic here is doubling of photos during the process of creating a new observation using the android app. If you’re concerned about something else, please talk about that elsewhere.

How are you getting the photos to iNaturalist?

Android photo gallery, long press several pictures to select them, then touch the share icon and select the iNaturalist app from the options that pop up. All default apps, no third party gallery. Today it didn’t double the photos, the phone may have rebooted since last time this happened.

Looks like you’re using a Pixel. So are you sharing from the Files app, or Google Photos? I’m assuming the former?

No, Google Photos. The doubling, when it happens, happens after selecting a taxon. Import as described above (say, 2 photos) → touch “what did you see”, make some selection there → now there are 2x2 photos.

This exact thing happens to me too, usually after I’ve already uploaded a few other observations. I’m also using a pixel and your workflow.

[image] tiwane: I think only one version of the photo exists, the app just displays the same photo twice? Here is an example that shows that the images are actually uploaded (not just displayed) twice. The images have different individual IDs. https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/4008029…

Thanks. I tried to replicate this a bunch of times on my Pixel 8 yesterday, both with the current release and the beta version, and could not replicate it. I did create a bug report, though.
