Organizing my own individual observations into something like folders?

I am doing some foraging in my neighborhood and want to have a way to access all of my observations of edibles specifically so that I can easily see a map specifically of the edible plants. What is the best way to do this? Project? Journal? I’m unfamiliar with iNat’s tools for grouping observations. They are mostly weedy plants and it doesn’t need to be private.

Welcome to the forum! Some sort of project would be best. If you want all observations of certain species you’ve observed, a collection project would be best (although you could also bookmark a specific Explore link). If you only want manually selected observations then a traditional project would be better. You read more about projects here:

You can add tags to your observations that serve as search strings. Click the tag and adjust the filter to show only observations by you and it should pull up your tagged set.
A collection project is also an option.

You can use the “Edible” observation field and choose “Yes”. And if you want to see all of your observations just click on the field, click “All observations with this field and value” and filter it to just your observations

if it’s going to only ever be your observations for your own use, i would go with observation fields. if you will potentially want to track other people’s observations, too, or if you ever want to share this information with others, i would use a traditional project.
