Sorting own observations

Hiya, this may be a commonly asked question but its my first post here.
Is there any way to create sort of like folders of my own observations? very simple stuff like just birds, mammals, arachnids etc.
Cause at least on phone if i have to show specific observations if they dont pop up in search i would have to scroll and make them all load individually.
Also for a more personal/fun reason since im working on a project involving specifically local birds so I’d prefer if i could just limit my search to those i have observed.
Thx in advance

which mobile app are you using?

inaturalist from the google play store, im on android

OK, thanks.

You can’t make “folders” for your observations, but you can use the filter and search options in the Explore screen to find your own observations of certain taxa and restrict those by place if you want.

Maybe the easiest thing to do would be to make collection projects that are restricted by certain taxa and places. See more at https://help.inaturalist.org/en/support/solutions/folders/151000548747 For example, you could make a collection project like “Birds seen by mairo48 in X Place” and restrict the project observations of birds, made by you, in the place of interest.

thx for the info, i’ll try to work with those restrictions

On the web app, I go to my profile, species, search on birds and get a list of species by taxonomical order with individual observations accessible from there.

You can limit the observation search by observer, location, date range and taxonomy unit.
iNat project based on the same criteria would give you summaries as well.

I am not quite sure how the above works on mobile apps.
So far I did not need projects of my own because the observation search is powerful.
It is worth exploring all the built-in options to see which suits you best.
