Description of problem:
Step 1: These are 2 screen shots from Identify. On a page of 100 observations, 10 of them have their photos.
Step 2: Photos are also missing from most of the observations with notifications on my dashboard.
Step 3: None of my own observations have their photos. Explore has about the same rate of photos present as Identify, unsurprisingly.
OK, I went off to do something else, and now the photos are back. Given there were no other posts about it, I guess it wasn’t a widespread problem. Very strange.
Anyway, I guess I can do some more identifiying now.
Hi, this is not solved at all. I ran into this issue yesterday too and hoped it would go away, but today it still persists. It’s only for a portion of photos but it makes iNat effectively unusable. It indeed seems to be an Amazon issue because for all the missing photos, Amazon’s cloud returns HTTP status 404 (Not Found).
By the way, it’s my first time here on the forum and the editor is horribly slow. I don’t know what kind of JavaScript sorcery the site is doing to achieve this but it definitely shouldn’t take several seconds before the characters I type appear on screen.
