Place not Showing up in Project

In the collection project settings for one of my projects, I am attempting to add Jackson County, Ohio as one of the included places. However, there seems to be a Jackson County in just about every state, and when I type in “jackson county” the dropdown will never list the Ohio county no matter what I do. Does anyone know a solution for this?

Thanks

If you find an observation that is in the place you want, then open the “Details” under the map, you can see a list of places.

Pointing your mouse at any of those places will show you the numeric code for the Place ID (it shows down at the bottom of the screen for me). You can then use that place code to add to your project.

Hmm I’m able to see the place ID but when I type it in nothing comes up…

There is also a search feature on the Places page: https://www.inaturalist.org/places

Searching for Jackson County gives a list where one of them is for Ohio:
https://www.inaturalist.org/places/jackson-county-oh-us with an ID of 1693.

That being said I tried to add it to a project and whilst you can type in the “full name” of the place it doesn’t filter the list any more than what I’m sure you were seeing… The search bar on the project page is not interested in the ID so it’s kind of a UI problem.

So any of these solutions help?
