Places with Multipolygons

Hello
I created a place a while back and now wanted to add a separate area that belongs to it. https://www.inaturalist.org/places/mission-wolf-co-us
From another forum thread it seems like that should be possible but I am struggling to get it to work.

I downloaded the old kml from iNaturalist and added the new polygon. I edited the kml file by hand to turn it into a single multipolygon (couldn’t figure out how to do it in G Earth). Opening it up in G Earth works fine. But once I upload it to iNaturalist the second polygon to the west turns into a single point nearby.

Here is the file: https://www.piespace.de/index.php/s/2bSBrs7DaprSXko

Anyone have an idea what I’m doing wrong?

Thanks in advance
Christian

The link to your file share asks for a password :)

Looking at the place edit page, I see this:

Is your ‘second polygon to the west’ the new area I’ve indicated in orange?
The small round marker icon is the ‘center’ of the place (set from the old kml place bounds) you should be able to move it west by manually editing the Longitude textbox.

I am unable to view or download that file. Anyway, I’ve had problems with multipolygons so I don’t use them anymore. Instead I manually edit the KML file so that it has a series of polygons.

Thanks for checking. Maybe the cache in my browser kept the old outline. Now I see the new area in the west as indicated in the second post.

Forgot to remove the password on my file

I’ll move the center marker and then I’m good.

Thanks again
