Private OB showing up under land feature search

So, I have an observation with a private location. But when I search up the land feature, (i.e. Mount Seymour) the orange demarcation lines show up on the map, and my observation is listed with everyone else’s in the search results. Granted, the land feature is quite large, but I’d still like better privacy than that. Is this a bug or by design?

I’m also questioning if private observations are included in projects once joined. That could be quite compromising depending on the size of the area.
