I added different projects to my profile (if I can call it so) and works fine as long as the oberservation is within a project that relates to my country Austia (e.g. Butterflies of Austria).
But the ranking is not working for e.g. Butterflies of Europe or Mammals of the Earth. If I click on “my observations” then I see all and get the number of the species I have seen and if I look directly to the observation I can see all related projects within the oberservation.
Do I have to click any checkbox? Or did I miss an agreement that the observations are added to the ranking?
Strange that for other persons in Austria it works but they could not help me.
Cheers
Rupert
i think this is relevant to what you’re talking about: https://forum.inaturalist.org/t/bug-project-doesnt-show-up-in-individual-posts/8287/2
I am not sure if I understood correct because I joined all projects.
And if I click in the project on “view yours” I can see so far all my observations (most with ID)
but is missing in the ranking:
so that’s strange for me
sorry
what is the URL associated with this screenshot?
That’s a consequence of how the observers tab works on Explore, see https://forum.inaturalist.org/t/leaderboard-species-numbers-incorrect/46392/10 for details.
Ahhhhh - now it’s clear!
Many thanks for the clarification.
Cheers

oh… okay. that’s what ths thread is about. here’s a description of a workaround if you want to see where you actually rank by species in any particular situation: https://forum.inaturalist.org/t/cutoff-for-2023-top-500-exceeds-6-000-observations/47901/27.
The project page also does the expected sorting, returning the top species counts, not just the top observation counts resorted by species count.
https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/mammals-of-earth?tab=observers
Either way, it won’t show down to users with 36 species because the cutoff is currently at 85 species.
