Description of problem (please provide a set of steps we can use to replicate the issue, and make as many as you need.):

Seek appears unable to access my location no matter what. When I first downloaded it a few weeks ago, I could get it to work if I tapped the button to center on your location in the map several times, but that has completely stopped working.

Step 1: Ensure Seek app has location permissions

Step 2: Turn on location and mobile data

Step 3: Open Seek app

My answer may be off topic, but I have exactly the same problem with Merlin. Maybe the same origin somewhere in Android or some stuff shared by these two apps?

I’m not able to replicate on my Pixel 8 running Android 14. Are you able to send a log file to us, the next time you get one of these error messages? To send a log file, please make sure you’re logged in to iNaturalist in Seek. Then, go to the About screen and tap on the version number.

Sorry about the delay, busy week; I just had the issue occur again and sent in a debug log.

A few days ago I happened to restart my phone, and was able to get Seek to properly detect my location exactly once. Today, though, I opened the app again and it was back to not finding my location.

Honestly I’m more curious what could be causing this than anything else.
