Slide scanner recommendations?

I keep saying one of these days I’ll scan my many old color slides of wildlife and plants into digital images and upload the records to iNat, but have been hesitating to invest in a scanner for that purpose because some of the earlier models were supposedly not that great. (Not that my slide images from the 1980s were all that great to start with.) I have not been paying attention to what new models may be available.

So I’m looking for recommendations on a good scanner. Many thanks in advance.

display a white image on your phone, put the slide on it, take a picture of the slide with your camera. a tripod helps a lot. works like a charm if you’re not looking for commercial grade image quality.

Thanks, I’ll give that a try.
