Tags not working in notes section

I will run across things people tagged me in weeks or months later, never got a notification it. I only seem to get notified if the tag is in a comment.

i think this is a slightly different problem that what is contemplated in the original post. i suspect this would explain the “delayed” notifications: https://forum.inaturalist.org/t/mention-notifications-months-later/9527/19.
