Too Many Requests on Calendar

Browser, if a website issue: Chrome

URLs (aka web addresses) of any relevant observations or pages: https://www.inaturalist.org/calendar/ra_teo/2025/8/1 (but working on any other URL for the calendar)

Screenshots of what you are seeing:

Description of problem: Can’t use Calendar in the browser as it shows me the ‘Too Many Requests‘ message when entering it. It sometimes happens when entering the main calendar, but it can also appear when I’m accessing a day in it.

Step 1: Open https://www.inaturalist.org/calendar;

Step 2: Navigate through a while, enter some days in it and it should look like the screenshot. (unless it only occur to me)

Is it a local problem of mine?
Not sure from what could it be, as it happens both on my computer and phone.

It’s not happening to me. Where you opening the pages unnaturally rapidly?

Not exactly, and it keeps happening, no matter how rare I open it, as I last entered the calendar a couple of weeks ago.

This is one from my phone, haven’t been entering iNat site on my phone since my birthday (14th of July) and I entered it straight from the link in the thread.

429 means you made to many requests in a given amount of time. It is not supposed to be a error on the platform, but instead a error made by the client, (like 404 Not Found, where you type the wrong url). But in your case it doesn’t seem to be so, interesting…

I had the same error when I opened your calendar link earlier this morning. But now it opens for me fine.

I have the same error for several months now. I thought it might just be my browser, but people that I sent the links to had the same problem. I can only view my calendar if logged in. I learned about it recently and realized it would be a great way of sharing all observations from a day trip, much better than Google Photos folders that lack IDs. The other board members appreciate looking at photos from my trips. Not very useful if they cannot view the link.

I can view your calendar when logged out but also you could use Explore for that: https://www.inaturalist.org/observations?on=2025-08-01&user_id=obatalov&verifiable=any
