For some reason I am unable to add a life stage annotation to this sighting - when I attempt to add an annotation of āadultā, it loads for a bit and then just disappears without adding anything. In the identify window, itās just stuck on continuously loading:
The same happens when I try to add any life stafe annotation, but the other three annotation categories work normally. Iāve messed with the DQA to try to reindex the sighting and I still have the same problem, so I donāt think itās that. Any ideas?
Yeah, so what happened here was that the observation was originally IDed as a mantis and annotated as nymph. The mantis ID ended up being deleted and now itās in lepidoptera, so nymph was hidden but it was still there, blocking any new Life Stage annotation. We removed nymph for this observation which fixed the problem for the individual observation, but not the underlying issue overall, which weāll investigate a fix for.
Correct; there are hundreds of insect larva observations the past week or so that I would have annotated as Larva but was unable to due to a pre-existing Juvenile annotation value.
I would like to be able to add annotations to them though. Is it likely they will be fixed, or will they have to stay without life-stage annotations forever?
I was looking in the project ALL YOUR GALLS ARE BELONG TO US and found that lots of fruiting bodies of fungi are being annotated with evidence of presence = gall. Iāve been disagreeing with the annotation, until I found one whose annotations are hidden due to āNo Relevant Annotationsā https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/119965191
I have a feeling this isnāt the only one, is there a fix for this? Thanks
Itās likely they will be fixed, but I donāt know when.
I suspect this is becuase at one point I added more restrictions to which taxa can be annotated with Gall and the system isnāt dealing with these new restrictions well. Iāve let our developers know.
When I narrow down the ID, the annotation of life stage disappears and there becomes available a new value for either ānymphā or ālarvaā. Then I try to set the life stage annotation to nymph (or larva, or whatever value) but it goes back to blank - this is the problem. It cannot be set on the Android app either.
