Today I tried using the Google browser on my phone to upload photos in batches, and it worked very well. It was a pleasant surprise to discover that the browser can upload photos from the iPhone’s photo library.
But it didn’t work when I tried it on an Android using the Google browser. I even tried installing the Brave browser, but that didn’t work either. In both cases, it attempts to open another tab, but closes quickly.
Has anyone had the same experience and found a solution?

Ironically, on Android (S25) I have been finding it easier to use a Chrome tab to upload observations, rather than the Android iNat app.
The Android iNat app does not seem to handle the new “allow limited access” functionality for gallery access.

It works in the regular Google Chrome browser on my Pixel 8 Android smartphone. If I understand correctly your issue about the opening of a new tab failing, maybe try long-pressing the button/link and selecting “open in new tab”. If you go directly to the page https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/upload on your Android phone, does that not function correctly for uploading? It seems to work fine on mine.
