When I paste a long link, it goes beyond the boundary box when saved, but not when I first entered it

This is weird. I just pasted a long link:

Is this a bug, or something not normally encountered because of short-cut links?

The small box on the edit page is not a 1-to-1 preview of what will happen (with respect to what text is on which line/what spills over) when saved. The reason you see it truncated like that on the edit page is just because it’s a smaller window.
