In the “observation streaks” section of the year in review pages, the dates for each individual streak are off by one. For instance, if you made observations every day on March 24 through March 30, then the streak will be labeled “Mar 23 - Mar 29”. This is true for every streak and every user I spot-checked, they’re all shifted by one day. Not a huge deal, of course, but a little strange.
this is the same as https://forum.inaturalist.org/t/off-by-one-error-in-graph-of-observation-streaks-in-yir/47661, with previous relevant discussion starting in https://forum.inaturalist.org/t/curiosity-about-the-observation-streaks-calculation/28140/6.
Ah, thanks. My search abilities were clearly lacking. Neither thread seems to offer a real explanation, apart from something unclear about timezones. I’d wondered if it could be related to that, timezones being the bane of all programmers, but checked a few users from around the world and didn’t see any difference.
It works well for me. Maybe it’s because my observations are very close to the Centre of the World ?
Pretty sure this isn’t a bug, it’s there to deal with the mess that are timezones.
