Android app incoming updates information

TLDR: where can I find info on incoming android updates?

Hey sorry if this has been discussed elsewhere, I had heard that the apple app was getting or got an update improving functionality, (maybe making it closer to the desktop version idk), I was wondering if my memory is accurate and when that kind of update is expected to come to android if its real? I just love the desktop versions graphics and functionality so I’m stoked at the idea of having that on my phone. Thanks! :)

Thanks! So it’ll be here eventually. :)

you could install it now, if you’re really interested. you just have to do it manually from the repository.

You can download the APK (analog of an .exe file on PC) from the release page of the Git repository here: https://github.com/inaturalist/iNaturalistReactNative/releases/tag/v1.0.12%2B189

If you’re looking to go next level, you can use an app like Obtainium to automatically pull new git releases and update it when they are available.

I’ve been testing the app for a few weeks (in parallel with the old iNat app) and it’s not done, but the changes are impressive to me.

although this is currently the latest release, folks looking in the future will want to check the releases page to find the latest release. see the previous thread linked above for a link to the releases page and for more discussion.
