Disabling 'show common names' on desktop does not take affect in iOS app

Step 1: Go to settings on desktop iNaturalist Australia and disable ‘see common names’.

Step 2: Open iOS phone app of iNaturalist Australia.

Step 3: See observations appear only as common names.

This is a known issue, and I believe one that the developers are already working on. Thanks for the report!

Yes, we plan to support this in the iOS app as part of bringing it up to parity with the Android app. Not not really a bug as the app has so far not been designed to support showing only scientific names.

The iOS app had to have its underlying code rewritten before we could start adding new functionality. With version 3.0 that rewriting work is now finished so we can start moving forward on adding functionality.
