Duplicating an obs with a sound file: new observation does not contain sound file

UPDATE: This morning, neither observation has a sound file.

Platform: MacOS Sierra 10.12.6 (MacBook Pro)

App version number, if a mobile app issue (shown under Settings):

Browser, if a website issue (Safari, Chrome, etc) : Safari 12.1.2

URLs (aka web addresses) of any relevant observations or pages:
Original observation with sound file: https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/44233558
Duplicate observation without sound file: https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/44233557

Screenshots of what you are seeing (instructions for taking a screenshot on computers and mobile devices: https://www.take-a-screenshot.org/): I have them but don’t have a place to put it. Msg me and we can figure it out if necessary. But it was easily reproduced.

Description of problem (please provide a set of steps we can use to replicate the issue, and make as many as you need.):

Step 1: Hit Upload button.

Step 2: Dragged a sound file into the Window from Finder.

Step 3: Set time and date back to actual observation, added a description.

Step 4: Hit Duplicate. Saw a sound file.

Step 5: Added a description.

***** I didn’t notice that the Play icon in the duplicate observation wasn’t the same color blue as in the original. I noticed it when recreating the error. I waited over 30 minutes but nothing changed. *****

Step 6: Hit Upload 2 Observations

I had this issue the other day as well. Glad to see somebody make a bug report for it

Added a bug report here. https://github.com/inaturalist/inaturalist/issues/2658

I deleted my bad observation and used the Edit button’s Duplicate feature to create a new duplicate.

Yeah this was my workaround as well. It seems the problem is only with the (I think relatively new) “duplicate” function when uploading observations, and not the one on already completed observations (the “edit” button’s duplicate feature).

This should be fixed now, it’s working for me.
