Description of problem:

I am trying to do a dataset export that excludes certain taxa and in the preview on the export page I noticed that it doesn’t seem to be recognizing the excluded taxa. I did find this old bug report ( https://forum.inaturalist.org/t/export-observations-not-taking-without-taxon-id-into-account/20909 ) that indicated that a fix had been rolled out, but when I tried to utlize this today I noticed that some excluded taxa were appearing in the preview.

Is this even something possible or is it not functioning as intended?

To be clear, the Golovinomyces is one of the taxa that should be being excluded

I made an export and found a bunch of rusts, so it’s definitely not working. I made a Github issue: https://github.com/inaturalist/inaturalist/issues/4664

another parameter that doesn’t seem to be taken into account in exports is not_in_place

I haven’t verified it myself, but this seems related (not_in_project).

Thanks, I added those to the issue.

Should be fixed now, I tried it with the link in the OP and I’m not seeing rust fungi. But definitely please test it out.

I’ll give it a test tomorrow and report back
