"Failed to save record" > "Not found" on editing observation field

Description of problem (please provide a set of steps we can use to replicate the issue, and make as many as you need.):

  1. Click on the “Treated ?” observation field
  2. Select Edit
  3. Change value from No to Yes
  4. Click Add
  5. Error message appears

I get the same error if I try to delete this observation field.

This is specific to this observation only, I’m able to edit this field on other observations.

the observation just needed to be reindexed. i triggered a reindex, and things are fine now. see https://forum.inaturalist.org/t/cannot-add-annotation-to-observation/40217/2 for a related issue and resolution.

it’s not clear why some records fail to get reindexed properly when updated, but i think that’s a bigger issue that needs to be resolved separately.
