I’m loading a lot of observations this evening and am using the autoidentify on most of them. Things were going well the first couple hundred observations, but now about every third observation it says “Loading suggestions…” but seems to be stuck. I go to another observation and it might load suggestions or might not. Is the system overloaded or something?
What is autoidentify? Is there a new feature I am unaware of? Do you mean AI/CV suggestions?
It sounds like your browser has gotten its networking a little messed up. I would recommend quitting and relaunching your browser as a first troubleshooting step. That often clears up mysterious networking weirdness.
might be similar to this: https://forum.inaturalist.org/t/searching-for-taxon-on-identify-stalls-out/4286/11. if you open up your browser’s developer tools and find HTTP429 errors, that’s probably it. (and if that is it, then maybe we can ask the iNat development staff to raise the limits on computer vision requests before the system starts throttling your requests.)
