Make it possible to (fully) cycle through lists using the arrow keys

Platform(s): Website

Description of need: There is a minor annoyance for me while identifying. When typing something in a search bar, I then use the arrow keys to enter the list that pops up. However, sometimes I accidentally hit the up-arrow, which brings me to the very bottom of the list. It then requires me to hit the up-arrow a few more times to get back to the top. Like I said, it is a minor annoyance, but when I’m identifying, it can get frustrating quite quickly.

Feature request details: So instead, when at the very bottom of such a list, especially in identify, we should be able to get back to the very top by hitting the down-arrow once.

In this example, I wanted to select Harmonia axyridis, but pressing the up-key brought me to “view all”. Instead of hitting the up-arrow 10 more times to bring me all the way back to H. axyridis, I should be able to hit the down-arrow once for the same effect.

You can go to the top or bottom of the list with PageUp or PageDown.

My keyboard doesn’t have those, unfortunately :(

@eyekosaeder What sort of keyboard are you using, and what sort of device are you viewing the website with? (It helps if you include this sort of information in your feature request).

On some keyboards, you can use Fn to page up, and Fn to page down. Or sometimes the Command key in combination with the arrow keys works the same way. If you experiment a bit with various modifier keys, you’ll probably find some way to get the equivalent functionality.
