Description of problem:
Step 1: Go to any text field.
Step 2: Tap on the emojis icon on the keyboard.
Step 3: Tap the “Search Emoji” box above the list of emojis. The app will hang for a few seconds then crash.
I tested in this in other apps and it seems to be unique to iNaturalist.

It could be, but this specifically happens when I press the search bar. None of the comments in that thread mention that, just other similar issues
Replicated this bug on iphone xr running inat 3.3.4 on ios 17.51
Touching the search emoji box crashes app—though the app doesn’t close; it’s still one of the open apps
Adding emojis does not crash app, only touching in search emoji box does
i’ve had this issue for a long time too. sometimes just editing the notes and trying to type will crash it too, but emojis almost always crash it.
