Trim whitespace in app before search

Platform(s), such as mobile, website, API, other: iNat app

Description of need:
Small and simple improvement of search function

Feature request details:
When searching for a species, the app does not trim whitespace from the search string. For example, if I search for “Hibbertia “ (note trailing whitespace) the resultant picklist does not include Genus Hibbertia, only species (because in a species name the genus name is always followed by a whitespace). This is inconvenient, because on an iPhone at least an autofill always includes a trailing whitespace. Trimming whitespace before the search would be an easy fix.

I agree. I frequently search for “Sphagnum” in the app, and I always have to backspace to delete the trailing space before making the search. (The autofill that comes up for this frequent search has a trailing space even though I didn’t type one in.)
