Umbrella Project not showing US place boundry

The US has joined the umbrella project Nature and Plastic (https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/nature-and-plastic) but I can not get the boundary map for the U.S. Terrestrial Nature and Plastic project to show. In the settings for that project the Show place boundary on map is ticked and for the project itself (https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/u-s-terrestrial-nature-and-plastic) the boundaries do show on the map. (Using United States Country)

For the U.S. Marine Nature and Plastic Project (https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/u-s-marine-nature-and-plastic) the Show place boundary on map is ticked and for the project itself the boundaries do show on the map, using United States Territories so that the flags for the two US projects are not on top of each other.

How do i fix this?

Thank you for your time.

i think the issue here is that the umbrella project will display place polygons on its map based on the place set up in the traditional project’s observation rules, not the place set up in its location. so maybe if your US and FI plastic projects don’t have places set up in the observation rules, add those and see what happens…

@jacqui-nz – i’m mentioning you here since it looks like @tangatawhenua hasn’t been active lately.

Thank you, and many apologies for the delayed reply. I don’t get notifications of a forum reply when I’m logged into iNatNZ. I have to remember to visit the forum itself. I believe @tangatawhenua is out of the country at the moment, so we will look at your suggestions when she returns. Hoping they work! Thanks again.

if a moderator sees this, i wonder if it’s time to close this bug report? it’s not clear that the problem described here isn’t in the setup of the projects, rather than a bug in the interface. it’s been over a year since the original poster has visited the forum. so i’m doubting that that person will weigh in on whether they still think there is a bug any time soon.
