Unable to access gallery at all, via app

Please fill out the following sections to the best of your ability, it will help us investigate bugs if we have this information at the outset. Screenshots are especially helpful, so please provide those if you can.

Platform (Android, iOS, Website): Android, latest version

App version number, if a mobile app issue (shown under Settings or About): App is deleted for now, but was running latest version of iNat app after uninstalling/reinstallung at least 10 times.

Browser, if a website issue (Firefox, Chrome, etc) : for the website, was using Chrome, now using Opera. No change

URLs (aka web addresses) of any relevant observations or pages: cannot access photos to even make an observation, so cannot answer this.

Description of problem (please provide a set of steps we can use to replicate the issue, and make as many as you need.):

Step 1: started out with not being able to choose photos like I used to. I understand this is due a change made by Google.

Step 2: made sure the app & gallery had all permissions granted. Problem got worse - could access photos at all from app. If I choose to add a photo, it takes me to the screen in the app for a new obs. When I hit the +camera icon, it takes me right back to the choose an image/soynd/etc., screen. Now it just goes back & forth between the 2. If I try to upload via the website, it freezes after I chose the location. Every single time.

Step 3: I am now stuck. I can buy a computer to access iNat and upload or I can stop using it peroid.

Can you please include the actual app version number in your bug report? I suspect you’re using the beta version, which has this issue.

Via email I found that the user had installed the beta version that was afflicted by this bug, so I’m closing now.
