Lets Talk About Your Favorite Flowers And Favorite Things To Do Outside
It is hard to choose a favorite flower. There are so many stunning ones. Some that I have loved the longest are the Aroids, starting with Jack-in-the-pulpit when I was a kid. The Aroid community is divided between “speciesists,” that is, the ones who are only interested in collecting and growing pure species, and the other set who appreciate the range of possibilities arising from horticultural hybrids. I fall into the second category.
I have other favorites, but I don’t want to monopolize the thread, so I will take turns with other people.
My Favorites are Calla lilys, tulips, rose, and orchids
I like a lot of flowers, some of my favorites are genuses Solidago, goldenrods, which I recently wrote a journal post about. I also like genus Asclepias, milkweeds. The native asters in Michigan are beautiful, and Monotropa uniflora is a really cool one too. Basically, all of the native flowers, haha.
Here’s my journal post, for those interested :-)

So Pretty
I don’t think I’ve seen a calla lily in pink before! A lot of the ones I see are white. Looking up varieties, I am surprised to find that they come in all sorts of colors. Very interesting :-D
Yea Very Interestion And One Question Is A rose Related To An Apple?
Red Trillium
Cardinal Flower
Milkweeds
Goldenrod
Asters
Jack-in-the-pulpit
They’re both plants!
Flowers are fine, they are a great place to look for arthropods.
But I am a fan of Corybas Orchids (Called spider orchids, but I avoid the common name since people will confuse them with the flashy ornamental spider orchids like Arachnis).
I do think our version of spider orchids are cute.
I believe they are both in the family Rosaceae. Apple blossoms definitely look like wild roses.
Those are so little! What an interesting plant
I have lots of favorite flowers, but New England Aster, Milkweeds and Tulip Tree flowers are my top three! I also love to see Cardinal Flower!
My favorite had long been Indian Pink, sometimes also called Pink Root. But this year, I grew Red-whiskered Clammyweed and, WOW! May be my new favorite. Both are native to Oklahoma.
New England Aster is a gorgeous flower, tulip tree cones/seed clusters also look really cool! I should probably try planting cardinal flower sometime.
So Pretty Everyone
I think the second one is the hummingbird’s favorite!
It’s hard, usually the last orchid I found, so Spiranthes spiralis right now. Or maybe Epipogium aphyllum which is such a weird and cool plant, with no chlorophyll. Or maybe Nigritella stiriaca, which looks so stunning and only grows high up near the mountain tops…
There are a lot of flowers I like, but (perhaps because it generally is my favourite plant at the moment) I like Tephrocactus geometricus flowers a lot.
