Do you remember it working differently? I thought it always opened that page, as you have to manually add observations, it shows those obs that are not in the project.

this was the first time trying the function for me, but i was following this tutorial
https://forum.inaturalist.org/t/adding-observations-to-a-traditional-project-wiki/13190

wich shows a different page, where you can select multiple observations at once by locality or taxon. I was advised on another platform to open a bug report but maybe i am missing something

This page doesn’t exist anymore, you need to go to your profile and choose this to open batch editor.

Welcome to the Forum @philodendronjoe. Thanks @fffffffff. Sorry about that - good thing I made it a wiki. I’ll have to change the tutorial. Not sure when that got changed.

The tutorial should be fixed now. Let me know if there is anything else.

Perhaps the powers that be could change the link on the Traditional project page of Add From Your Observations to go to Edit Observations. That would be nice :)

This is a really unfortunate change resulting in a loss of important functionality. Hopefully it is just an oversight and it can be fixed to open in the user’s “edit observations” page with the correct records queried out. I have emailed iNaturalist support about this.

In the meantime, with some knowledge of iNaturalist search urls (see https://forum.inaturalist.org/t/how-to-use-inaturalists-search-urls-wiki/63) it’s possible to take the search parameters from the explore page that opens up and use it on the edit observations page to query out suitable observations, then use the “batch edit” option to select all and add them to the project. As an example, here’s it in action for a project I help administer: https://inaturalist.ca/projects/nhic-rare-species-of-ontario/journal/9226-what-records-are-eligible-and-how-can-i-quickly-add-them-to-the-project

I honestly don’t remember that link going to one’s Edit Observations page, but then I rarely ever use projects so it’s quite likely I’m wrong. We’ll take a look.

I’m with Mike on this, this was very useful and I think I used it within the last month or so. I was surprised to see the change today as I was trying to describe the process to someone else. It would be nice to get it back.

I agree, that page is significantly more useful.
