This bug seems to have been fixed. I can add Life Stage annotations during upload and I don’t have any indexing problems. I have tried all sorts of permutations, and iNat is no longer foxed by any of them ;-) Thank you to the fixer(s)! Will mark this as solved.

I have just noticed that one of above photos now has an ob! The Agrotis is here https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/35167675 . The other 2 are still awol.

Interestingly, with the appearance of the Agrotis, my obs count went up by one on my observations (Explore) page, but not on my profile or on a particular ob page (as of this moment). [obscount2019-11-02]
