Are you experiencing a technical issue with iNaturalist? This category is the place to report it.
By “bug” we mean that something is not working the way it is intended to. This is not a place to make a feature request (there’s a separate category for that), nor is it a place to start a discussion about how iNaturalist does things - you can do that in the General category.
Non-urgent bugs are generally distributed to the development team on a weekly basis. Please note that iNaturalist’s Guides feature is presented “as is” and will not be updated further.
Here’s what you can do to help us investigate bugs:
When describing a problem you have with the website, please include URLs! Seriously. When you say things like “my observation isn’t showing the right date” we have no idea how to help you unless you include the URL (aka web address, like https://www.inaturalist.org/observations) of the page or pages in question. Otherwise we don’t know what observation or project to which you are referring.
If you’re describing a problem in one of the mobile apps, please tell us which app (Android or iPhone) and describe what you are seeing in as much detail as possible (titles, layout).

If the bug relates to our Android app, please send a log file to email@example.com right after the bug or crash occurs. To send a log file, go to the Settings tab in the app and tap three times on the version number. You will then have the option to email the log file to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Tagging your topic ios, android, or web will help us categorize bugs.
